In mid-March 2025, faculty and their families at Huron University College and King’s University College learned that they would be unilaterally de-rostered from Western’s Employee and Family Health Clinic, losing access to their sole family doctor. This built on an earlier decision to de-roster Western’s part time staff and faculty and future retirees from the clinic.
To remedy this situation in a good way, the faculty associations at all three universities are asking Londoners to join a letter writing campaign asking Western’s President, Alan Shepard, and Vice-Provost John Doerksen, our primary point of contact on this file, to not just reverse this decision, but also invest in a university-led and community-focused primary care program that better serves all Londoners.
